What is the best web design software for beginners?

I want to design a website but the courses I’ve checked out cost thousands of dollars. What is a good web design software, that comes with some sort of tutorial or whatever, so I can learn it by myself?

W3Schools and a text editor is all you need to teach yourself.

Agreed with :
W3Schools and a text editor is all you need to teach yourself

by the way Notepad++ is a good text editor to use for web development purpose.

But still if you need some software (as it is difficult for beginners to type everything in text editor ) you can download trial of Adobe Dreamweaver , use it until trial expires and by then you will start feeling comfortable with typing so then you can switch to any text-editor.

For a simple way of building your website try a wysiwyg visual editing program which would build the html code for you. I use Visual Site Designer for this reason.
